VinosLOF

We created VinosLOF as a family wine project born from the Lopez and Folgueral generation, continuing a long-standing viticultural tradition in El Bierzo. Our vineyards are mainly located in Valtuille de Abajo, with additional historic plots in Villalibre de la Jurisdicción. Many of these vineyards were planted by our grandparents and great-grandparents in the early 1900s, using local varieties, with Mencía as the emblematic grape of the region.

Over the years, our family has cared for, expanded, and preserved these vineyards while remaining deeply connected to their origins. In recent years, we have also focused on recovering abandoned century-old vineyards, grafting part of them with varieties such as Godello, Merenzao, and Pan y Carne. At the same time, we have restored our grandfather’s traditional winery and renovated a historic village cellar, guided by our philosophy of “putting the vineyard in the bottle.”

We work exclusively with our own vineyards and practice organic, sustainable viticulture combined with artisanal, low-intervention winemaking. By working many plots separately, we strive to faithfully interpret each site and craft wines that express the landscape, history, and family heritage of El Bierzo, preserving our old vines for future generations.
