Strunga Winery

Strunga Winery is in the village of Strunga, Iași County, in the Moldova Hills of north-eastern Romania. Its vineyards grow on the Pârjolita and Calda hills. Local people have called the hills by these names for hundreds of years, and the names still shape the identity of the place. The winery sees this village as part of a region with real potential for winemaking.
Respect for the land guides every decision at Strunga. The winemakers don’t rush anything. They let the vines follow nature’s rhythm, and they give each wine the time it needs to develop its full character. The aim is for every bottle to reflect its place of origin, the people who work the vineyards and the balance of the ecosystem around them.
The estate covers 93 hectares. Romanian varieties grow here alongside international ones. The Romanian varieties are Fetească Albă, Fetească Regală, Fetească Neagră, Busuioacă de Bohotin and Tămâioasă Românească. The international ones are Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Muscat Ottonel, Shiraz, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Together they make up a range of white, rosé and red wines, and each wine has a character of its own.
Strunga also has a showroom where visitors can get to know the wines, and it hosts events at the winery.
