Vinification, winemaker's own words

Soils:

Clay

Terroir:

Soil: Unlike the slate typical of the region, this wine focuses on clay-based soils (arcilla), which produce a more elegant, round, and fleshy Mencía. Geography: Located in the golden triangle of Bierzo (Pieros and Valtuille de Arriba) at altitudes of 480–600m. Climate: A sub-Atlantic continental microclimate. The mountains act as a shield against Atlantic storms, ensuring balanced ripening. Vines: Sourced from old bush vines (40–60 years old), providing low yields but high concentration and deep fruit character.

Picked by hand

Steel (100%)

Storage:

Old oak (80%) 12 months

Winemaker:

AMANCIO FERNANDEZ
