Soils:

Terroir:
Village blend of 2 century old vineyards. Los Pinos is a North facing hill on clay soil co-plantated in 1910 with a field blend of 90% Mencía 10% Palomino. Valdeobispo is a South facing hill on clay and sandy soils planted in 1903 with Mencia. Bush vines, dry farmed, regenerative organic farming, natural green cover, no tillage.

Village blend of 2 century old vineyards. North facing hill wine is fermented with destemmed grapes and aged in used French oak 50 Hl vats. South facing hill wine is fermented with 50% whole bunch 50% destemmed grapes in used French oak 50 Hl vats and aged in 225 and 500 l used French oak barrels. Coupage is made after aging. Spontaneous fermentation, only addition of sulphites. No stabilization, light filtration at bottling.

Cantariña is a small family winery in the DO Bierzo, in the green NW of Spain. We farm our family legacy vineyards under regenerative organic viticulture, respecting the ecosystem and soils to produce a range of terroir-driven wines from our local grape varieties.
