Luca Luigi Tosa

Our company was born in a small village in the heart of the Langhe. Its name is Cossano Belbo, it is located in the province of Cuneo and the landscapes that surround it (together with those of Monferrato and Roero) have been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2014. Luca, born in 1986, graduated from the Oenological School of Alba and graduated as an Oenologist from the University of Turin, has the task of continuing the family tradition of cultivating vineyards, to which the production of wine has been added since 2022. The Langhe area is characterized by the main cultivation of vines. The vineyards lie ordered on gentler slopes and on slopes characterized by steep slopes. The Piedmontese dialect term is Sorì, or Solatio or Sunny, as the high slopes lead to greater exposure of the bunches to sunlight and favor the ripening of the grapes that are harvested exclusively by hand. Cultivation on vineyards with high slopes while limiting mechanical operations is extremely expensive! It was precisely this condition that gave the impetus to join the collective brand "Sorì Eroici": a brand that aims to give wines a new and fairer value. It is precisely on steep slopes, historically cultivated with vineyards, that our Moscato Bianco, Nebbiolo and Dolcetto vineyards are located. The new winemaking cellar was built in 2023: built in natural materials, mainly fir and certified wood fiber and from the PEFC supply chain. An innovative solution in the oenological field, with high thermal efficiency and perfectly integrated into the surrounding environment. Respect for nature and the territory, but also concreteness and efficiency are the key words even in the cellar. Visits are conducted right from here, in the more temperate seasons the Tosa family makes available the large green area in front of the winery, with a lush bamboo grove!
