Our family-run VDP- estate AUGUST ESER cultivates 27 acres of single vineyard sites along the Rhine river. Our aim is to create authentic Rieslings and Pinot Noirs, which get their distinctive character on the south facing slopes of the Rheingau valley/Germany. You can find our winery (built around 1680) in the center of the old town of Oestrich, where we are the tenth generation of winemakers dedicated to making wines of quality. The wines mature in our tunnel vault cellar. Everyone can do their part. Here is a short look at our commitment to sustainability We support contribute to events and sponsor art, culture, medical research and activities for the youths We are active in various associations from the winemaking unions but also cultural clubs to support ideas and visions for the future. Everything starts in the vineyard: our cover-crop management over the last decades supports our natural soil fertility. In addition to that, we abstain from the use of pesticides for the natural pests. We also keep a close eye on our energy resources: our barrels and tanks are cooled down by nature. Since 2007, solar panels have provided power for wine-making operations, hot water, heating and lights.
