Weingut Kranz

What is special about our winery? Founded from a typical Palatinate small agricultural business, the great-grandparents and grandparents specialized in viticulture after the 2nd World War and built up the winery. Even today we still run the winery in a very familiar way. Boris Kranz as manager and winemaker and his wife Kerstin Kranz is responsible for sales and marketing. Since 2023 their son Xaver joined them after studies in Geisenheim with experiences in various estates over the world, since then being more and more responsible for Wines and Vineyards. We don't buy any grapes. We produce our wines exclusively from our own vineyards located on a unique limestone terroir which is located mainly around our Grand Cru site "Ilbesheimer Kalmit". Our winery concentrates on the classical grape varieties Riesling, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir with Riesling playing the major part. We are a certified organic and sustainable winery. Through hard work, a lot of craftsmanship and a good portion of idealism we worked our way to the top of the German wine producers. Since 2012 we are a member of the VDP.
