About us

Since 2005, the Fabre family has been part of the long history of Château de Gaure. At Fabre, we have been winemakers from father to son for five generations.

Deeply rooted in the Languedoc, the men of the Fabre family—Aimé, Marcel, Albin, René, Pierre, and perhaps later Arnaud or Matisse—have made or will make their lives here.

We bought this estate on a whim, captivated by its history and the magic of the place. We embraced biodynamic farming, and in just a few years, our organic wines have made a name for themselves on the finest tables in France and abroad.

In Gaure's origins, its château was a Roman villa. On the plateau, a promontory called La Lagaste was a Roman oppidum in the 1st century. This oppidum, Camp dal Ker, gave its name to one of our exceptional wines: Oppidum Blanc du Château de Gaure.
