2022 was a hot and dry year in Bordeaux leading to an early harvest and lot of concentrated fruit, deep colour and elevated structure. This modern classic style of Bordeaux red was made by de-stemming the grapes and putting them in a steel tank to macerate and ferment for 20 days. Gently extracting colour and flavour whilst minimising tannin extraction. After the initial racking the skins were carefully pressed in a small vertical press and the wines were combined for aging. The wine was moved from the steel tanks after 7 months and put into used 500L oak barrels where they were aged without regular topping up for a further 2.5 years. This process has allowed the wine to soften and bring the dark fruit forward.
