About us

La Quinte was born from the meeting of two passionate craftsmen within an Alsatian wine estate.

Pierrick, 36, a winemaker deeply committed to agroecology and natural wines.

Matthieu, 37, a distiller running his own small-scale distillery, dedicated exclusively to natural production from wild foraging.

Brought together by this shared passion — and by other common interests such as music — we decided to combine our skills around a Languedoc vineyard.

We admire this landscape profoundly. Our experiences have shown us how essential biodiversity is — both in our work and in our lives.

It shapes the balance, the beauty, and the longevity of the land.

Within that harmony, nature offers intense olfactory and gustatory experiences that we seek to convey through our wines.

Our vineyard lies between Haut-Languedoc and Minervois, on the Cazelles plateau.

Most vines are old — between 80 and 120 years, with one younger parcel of about twenty years.

They grow across two distinct terroirs:

to the south, white and grey lacustrine limestone,

to the north, variegated clays, silts, and sandstones from the Assignan formation.

The vines are cultivated under organic farming.

We pay particular attention to avoiding soil disturbance, through agroecological techniques, and practice gentle pruning on goblet and Royat cordon systems.

Yields are low — around 15 hectolitres per hectare on average.

No copper is used in our treatments, and we strive to minimize sulphur through the use of essential oils, plant macerations, and natural fermentations.

Harvesting is done by hand, and the wines are made without additives — indigenous yeasts, no added sulfites — to express the terroir, the grape’s true ripeness, and its emotion.

These practices, for us, are the foundation of the quality and emotional depth of our wines.

“Before transforming grapes, winemakers are first and foremost caretakers of the soil.

They are farmers — people of the land — whose choices and practices reshape our plains and hills every year.

In our turn, we wish to bring with our own hands the sketch of tomorrow’s landscape.”
